There are many advantages in building standards-compliant websites: search engines are more likely to index your site correctly

- giving better page rankings in searches related to your site. Many web design agencies charge extra for "Search Engine Optimisation" (SEO) - we believe that a properly constructed website will automatically be optimised for better page ranking.

Similarly, in the UK, any website set up to provide a public service must conform to the Disability Discrimination Act 1996 (DDA) - this requires any such website to meet certain standards of web accessibility. A standards- compliant website will meet such standards if it is well designed.

All our websites are hand-coded: we are therefore not constrained by the limitations of any page editing software. We do not use "page-templates" - there are many websites which offer such tools for quick and easy website construction. However, we feel that these templates do not offer the kind of attention to detail which we insist on.
